Boca Raton Personal Trainer – “Happy Couples Workout Together”

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, it’s the time of year where couples are scrambling to get their special someone a gift, albeit we’re less than 60 days removed from Christmas!

Well this year, rather than the same old chocolate, roses, romantic dinners, or even getaway vacations, why not try something different?

“A couple who works out together, stays together”

Now keep in mind what I’m about to share is purely based on opinion.  I’m not about to spew psychological facts and statistics regarding couples working out together, but I will tell you that as personal trainer in Boca Raton, I see couples working out together all the time, and there are some significant advantages to exercising with your hubby!

First, knowing this from experience, there’s an increase in attraction as you know your spouse or significant other is doing their part to look and feel better about themselves.

Next, and this is especially true if the two of you are within similar fitness levels, sometimes there is competition between the two.  I see this happen all the time in my gym in Boca Raton.

And last, for a lot of couple who spend so little time together with their respective jobs, kids, and other activities, it’s a very quality time together to spend doing something worthwhile, healthy, and fun.

So this year get into a local gym, fitness center, join a bootcamp, or even hire a personal trainer for both of you together.  It beats the same old boring chocolate and flowers routine :)

Are You Right For Personal Training Or Bootcamps?

These days it’s pretty standard to find people working with personal trainers either in a private or group venue.  It used to be where your options were limited to whether you wanted to workout at a gym or by yourself at home.

Today, though, it’s very common to find most folks working out with fitness trainers in private studios or, depending on where you live, outdoors like the beach or the park.

The question is which is right for you?

Well, if you’re in the market to hire a personal trainer there are some pro’s and con’s to working privately or in a small or large group setting.

First, you have to take cost into consideration.  Depending on where you live, hiring a private personal trainer can cost anywhere from $60-$100 per hour.  Now multiply that by 2 or 3 times per week and you have yourself a mortgage-sized personal training bill!  Here, locally if you were to hire a Boca Raton personal trainer it isn’t uncommon to drop $1,000 a month on training.

Bootcamps, on the other hand, are much more cost effective typically running from $150-$250 per month and come with the opportunity to workout more times per week leaving you to pay around $20/session.

Another option you need to weight is whether or not you like to have the individual attention of a personal trainer or if you want to workout with others.  Exercising with others can be awkward at first but doing so brings about a lot of energy, excitement, commoradery, and motivation from others to do you best.

A con of working out with other people is that you now have the trainer’s eyes focusing on anywhere from 2 to 20 people at the same time.  This can be frustrating as now you begin to feel it’s like a group fitness class in a gym as opposed to a semi-private personal training session.

The fact is there are pro’s and con’s to both bootcamps and working individually with a fitness pro.  Weighing cost and training environment are just a few.  Some additional ones to take into consideration are of course the career record of whom you’re about to hire including testimonials, education, track record, and whether or not he/she comes with a guarantee of success.

Either way, just make sure you do your due diligence to prevent any headaches down the line.  Hiring someone to help you lose weight and get in shape is a serious decision and it should be a rewarding one in the end!

Good luck!
